As part of our PR services we often draft award entries for our clients as winning awards can be a great way of driving awareness of your business. For each client we adopt a particular awards strategy, finding out what makes the client unique and then finding awards that match those key points of difference, to maximise their chance of success.
Get Ahead VA was founded by mother of three Rebecca Newenham, so mumpreneur awards were an obvious choice. However, we needed to find awards that were credible for the business too, which is now much more than Rebecca alone. Budget was also a factor and we decided to limit any award entries to free to enter awards, where the only cost to the client was our time. This ensured that we were keeping risk to a minimum whilst allowing Get Ahead VA to continue to invest in other areas of marketing their business.
By getting to know the business and the team we were able to highlight that flexible working was a particular aspect that made it unique and perfectly suited for the mumandworking awards – Flexible Working category. As part of the entry we not only answered the questions required but also provided supplementary materials with financial statistics to back up business success, personnel facts on the number of people benefitting from flexible working in the business and interviews with some of the Virtual Assistants, talking about what a difference being able to work flexibly made to themselves and their families. Ensuring we demonstrated a client benefit from this flexible working model too, we added testimonials from clients highlighting how the flexible service that Get Ahead VA delivers enables them to grow their business in a way they simply couldn’t do otherwise.
We provided a full service from award search and selection, through to entry drafting and submission, liaison with awards companies over supporting material or interview requirements, drafting and publishing of press releases for shortlisting as well as the actual awards win. These press releases drove online coverage for the business with exposure to over 50,000 people through websites and social media platforms, as well as local press.
