Like many businesses, here at 4 C Marketing we engage in networking to grow our business.
Networking can take many forms – from speed networking at major international events, to a coffee and a catch up with local contacts. It can be something you do daily, weekly or monthly, regularly or sporadically. It can cost just your time – or it can be something you invest significantly in.
In general, regular networking is always advised – along with a wait. It is about building relationships, not just selling to the people you meet. It can be as much about finding new suppliers or a support network for your business. For many entrepreneurs it is a vital social aspect of what can otherwise be a solitary world. It is something you should review regularly to ensure that you are getting a return on your investment – both in terms of your time and your money.
But networking isn’t just about a particular meeting you attend or people you speak to online. It is every time you come into contact with someone in a professional capacity. It is happening even when you don’t realise it and can pay results when you least expect it.
Last month we received a call from a company we had met back in 2013, when we were first setting up the business. We consulted them as a potential supplier, as well as a potential client. After almost three years, with no contact in between, they phoned and said they would like us to start work on marketing their business. We were surprised, delighted and amazed to see that networking really does pay off – even much later than you might have expected and from where you least expect it. We must have created the right, lasting impression.
Networking is just one way to raise awareness of your business and increase your sales pipeline. We can help with many more aspects of marketing including advertising, PR, blogging and social media. Why not give us a call on 01252 843461 or drop us an email at email@example.com. We would love to work together to grow your business.
